Customs & Import FeesUpdated 2 years ago

CUSTOMS DUTY EXPLAINED

While Streignth being international now is very exciting,  part of this means we all have to deal with custom duties from time to time. The "goods" (like the Streignth products you buy) cannot simply be shipped freely from one country to another. Customs Duty are required when goods are imported into a different country or customs territory. This is where a charge called Customs Duty has to be applied. This is charged by the local customs authority where the goods are being imported into.

If Customs Duty is payable to your territory, you'll be responsible for paying it to the authorities, so Streignth is not involved in this process. Whether Customs Duty is payable, and by how much, depends on a whole lot of different things. For example, many countries have a 'low value threshold' below which they do not charge any Customs Duty.

If you do have to pay Customs Duty though, the amount payable is almost always calculated based on the type and value of the goods that is being imported.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DON'T PAY YOUR CUSTOMS DUTY?

If you refuse and the customs fee and the parcel is returned back to us at Streignth, a shipping and handling fee will be deducted from your refund. If you are still unsure on whether you'll be subject to customs fees, we recommend contacting your local customs office for more info before placing your order!

SALES TAX- WHAT IS IT?

Good question. Sales Tax - also known as VAT or GST depending on where you live - is a tax charged on the supply of goods or services. As Streignth continues to grow, we will be required to collect sales tax in more states and countries at our checkout. We are then required to pay this to our local tax authority. This being said, we do not keep any of the money for ourselves.
